ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE

November 16, 2004

Chair Jerry Niebaum called the Administrative Committee meeting to order at 5:00 on November 16, 2004 at the Watkins Community Museum. Attending were Board officers John Simmons, Patty Johnston, and Bob Piller; Society representatives; Pennie Von Achen and Phil Humphrey; and Museum director Rebecca Phipps. Lew Phillips was unable to attend.

The minutes of the Oct 19, 2004 meeting were approved as written.

CORRESPONDENCE

There was no correspondence.

FINANCIALS

Piller distributed the year-to-date financial summary for October. He noted that the summary distributed at the annual meeting was for the January-September 2004 period.

NEW OFFICERS

Discussion was held regarding suggestions for Board officers and representatives at large for 2005. Niebaum volunteered to continue to put the Society’s agenda and minutes on the website.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Phipps reported that the Chamber’s after hours social mixer would be held tomorrow evening at the Museum.

ANNUAL MEETING

It was noted that the Journal World was very complimentary in its report on the annual meeting and the museum’s progress. Discussion was held as to why the low attendance at the meeting.

DIRECTOR’S EVALUATION

The meeting was called into executive session.

OTHER ITEMS

Niebaum asked for agenda items for the November 23 board meeting. The next Administrative Committee meeting is December 21.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
