We are now is the central stairwell and I always say if we can get people into this space the rest will take care of itself, because there is a certain attractive ambience, a certain pleasing aesthetic here. We can see the beauty of the old and the craftsmanship of the materials. We find 30 inch walls on the first floor, 24 inch walls on the second floor and 20 inch walls on the third floor. The building features ash on the first floor for the main woodwork and then oak on the second floor, and then yellow curly pine or burly pine as it's called on the top floor. The beauty of the 45 foot tall and 25 foot wide stairwell and attractive marble mosaic floors complement the wainscoting of Tennessee marble and Mexican onyx.The eye is drawn to the 25 foot long hanging chandelier with its brass, simulated jewel encrusted, glass-globed, two-part fixture. The staircase with its iron frame and railings inlaid with the initials JBW on a sheet copper shield sets off the stairwell as a whole.
