History Day

What is History Day? History Day is a year long learning opportunity for students in grades six through twelve, that offers students the opportunity to explore topics that interests them. They conduct research, using primary and secondary resources, and then analyze the information, in light of an over-arching historical theme or question. For more information, visit Kansas History Day’s website.

Scouts

Local Museums are valuable resources for the community. One way the Watkins Museum can aid youth is by existing as a hub for multiple activities, including scouting badge completions. While we do not currently have a merit badge counselor at the Watkins, we do still offer badge seekers a space to advance their efforts. See a full list of badges, and the specific requirements that could potentially be fulfilled by visiting the Watkins Museum of History here.
