Giving for Good Campaign

In this Time Capsule episode, Communications and Outreach Manager Natalie Vondrak explains how the Watkins Museum is partnering with the Douglas County Community Foundation on their year-end Giving for Good campaign. This year, the Watkins Museum is raising money to purchase display cases and custom mounts for several artifacts waiting to go on temporary and permanent display in 2023. These include loaned artifacts from various community organizations and partners, the newly acquired tuxedo Oscar-winner Kevin Willmott wore to the Academy Awards ceremony, a pitcher from Lawrence’s first Mexican restaurant, The El Tampico Club, and a cowboy hat signed by several Hollywood movie stars from The Dark Command. Tune in to learn more about these artifacts!

Time Capsule with KLWN’s Joel Becker and the Watkins Museum’s Natalie Vondrak explores the history of Lawrence or Douglas County and shares the stories of the people and events that have helped shape our community. The show airs the first Tuesday of the month during Radio for Grownups around 10:10 AM on FM 101.7 or AM 1320 KLWN.
